Happy Friday everyone! I hope that your August is going well so far (I know, we are only three days into the month!) Are you watching the Olympics? I love the Olympics and it's been an exciting week so far. I have been watching Michael Phelps swim since he first competed, all the way back in 2000 in Sydney. Watching him this week has been awesome and also a little sad, knowing that it's his last. I'm looking forward to the track and field events starting soon, though! Well, onto the Friday fun ...
Jen at Crazy For Books asks:
When a book goes “viral” (Hunger Games, Fifty Shades, Twilight), do you rush out to read it like everyone else, even if it’s not in your typical genre?
I wouldn't say that I rush out to read it, but I do become curious about it. I figure, if there are people who hate to read and they are reading this book, then maybe I should check it out.
Parajunkee asks:
Do your reading habits change based on your mood? Do you read a certain genre if you are feeling depressed or happy?
I don't think that my reading habits change based on my mood, but I do go through slumps where I don't want to read at all.
GReads asks:
What a great question, since I love the Olympics so much! Well, my gold medal would have to go to To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Silver would go to Unbroken by Laura Hilenbrand. Bronze would have to go to Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. (That was hard to choose!)
So, do you jump on the bandwagon and read those really popular books? Do your reading habits change based on your mood? Which books would you award with medals? Let me know, and have a great weekend!
I have to be in a specific mood to read some kinds of genres.

Yeah, my reading habits don't usually go along with my moods most of the time.

I'm a mood reader for sure. The Olympic question is perfect for now. Gold goes to Still Alice by Lisa Genova, Silver goes to author Kristin Hannah and bronze goes to author Andrea Kane but of course these can change.
ReplyDeleteGood medal choices! I haven't actually read UNBROKEN yet, but I've heard tons of good things about it and from a variety of people.
