Follow Friday and TGIF! (2-3-12)

Happy Friday everybody! Enjoying the first few days of February? It's pretty nice here in Pittsburgh ... no need for a heavy winter coat or sweaters. I do like winter, but I'm not going to complain about this weather! Now, onto the Friday fun ...

Parajunkee asks:

Define what characteristics your favorite books share. Do they all have a kick ass heroine or is the hot love interest the Alpha Male?

The only thing that's most common among my favorite books is strong narration. I prefer stories told from the first-person perspective, but it's not a requirement of mine to become a favorite. As long as the narration is strong, then I will probably really enjoy the book!

GReads asks:

Book Appeal: When you're browsing goodreads, the library, or another blogger's
reviews, what grabs your attention to make you want to read it?

Well, sometimes, it's the cover that grabs my attention (I know, how shallow!) But if I'm on GoodReads, then it's based on the summary and how many stars a book receives. If it's something that a lot of people seem to have issues with, then I skip it. When it comes to other people's blogs, I tend to try books from bloggers who read books that are similar to what I read. If they write a great review, then I will add that book to my list. A not so great review, then I might be more hestitant to check it out.

So, what characteristic do your fave books share? What makes you choose a book? Leave a comment and let me know, and have a fabulous Friday!

  1. Oh, I forgot the narration part. Gnn. It's important to me, too. : )

Hah, I'm shallow, too. First cover, then blurb, then average rating and reviews. *g*

    Happy Friday!

  2. I don't think that's shallow at all, since that's how I operate - covers first, titles too. If I'm intrigued enough, I'll check out the summary :)
