Happy Friday everyone! Did you have a good Memorial Day weekend? I had my wisdom teeth pulled on Friday, so I pretty much just ate ice cream and laid around all weekend. Not an awful way to spend a weekend! Now, onto the Friday fun ...
Jen at Crazy For Books asks:
BEA Edition – What upcoming releases are you most looking forward to?
Oh my goodness, there are so many great books that I'm looking forward to reading! There's JK Rowling's new book that's coming out in September, Emily Giffin's new book coming out next month, and so many more that I can't even remember!
GReads asks:
Issue Books: Which books have you found to be very rewarding when it comes to tackling tougher issues?
Great question! The one that comes to mind instantly is the classic To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I remember the first time I read it, freshman year of high school, and really connecting to the story. I think that's the first time that I can remember connecting to a book in that way. A book that I've read recently (recently being within the past two years) that I've felt tackling those tougher issues is Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. Yes, this is narrative nonfiction, but the struggles that Louie goes through resonate with anyone who reads this novel.
So, what new releases are you most looking forward to? What books deal with those tough issues? Let me know, and have a great weekend!
I don't read a lot of books that tackle tough issues directly to be honest - but lots of books, like dystopian novels, take an indirect, subtle approach that I like. As for book I'm most looking forward to seeing tons of new authors that I haven't read any books from.

To Kill A Mockingbird was amazing and definitely one of those books I'd want my kids to read. Great pick!

I hadn't thought of To Kill a mockingbird, it's one I read back in school too.
