Book Blog Hop and Follow Friday (4-5-13)

Happy Friday everyone! I hope that you had a wonderful Easter however it was spent and that there is some sunshine wherever you might be! We finally got some sunshine here in Pittsburgh and it's making me so happy! I just want to grab my book and go sit outside ... it's still 36 degrees, or else I would definitely do it! Well, let's get onto the Friday fun ...

What book have you've been meaning to read forever AND you finally did?

I feel like a better question is "How many books have you had forever and still have no plans in the foreseeable future to getting around to reading?" Haha ... For me, I would have to say Major Pettigrew's Last Stand. I finally got around to it last year after it lingered in my TBR pile forever!

Parajunkee asks:

Have you ever read a book that you thought you would hate? Did you end up hating it? Did you end up loving it? Or would you never do that?

There are actually quite a few books that I thought I would hate but ended up really enjoying. The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbach and The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern were both books that I didn't think that I would enjoy, but after reading reviews from some bloggers, I decided to give them a try. I find myself trying more books that I think I won't like because a blogger that I trust reviews it and loves it .... another one of the many benefits of blogging!

So, what book did you finally get around to? Have you ever read a book and liked it after thinking that you wouldn't? Let me know and have a great weekend!

  1. Hello Fellow FFer!
I'm curious - was there something in particular that made you think you wouldn't like those two books?

  3. Checked out your review on your "Finally Read" and was glad to see you enjoyed it... maybe not a 5 but not a bust either!

I've never read the two you ended up enjoying, but I've been wanting to read The Night Circus.

  4. I read a book for book club last year that I thought I would really hate but I was shocked. It was good and I am still thinking about it.
