My name is Kristen, and I'm a twenty-something girl from Pittsburgh, PA. I began this blog because I love to read ... from a young age, I typically always had a book in hand. I love being carried away to different places, seeing things from new vantage points, and learning things that you never thought possible. I found it difficult to find others who enjoyed reading as much as I do, so I started this blog as a way to connect with others who share my love of books.
I have eclectic tastes in book, ranging from contemporary fiction, historical fiction, chick-lit, travelogues, non-fiction ... pretty much anything! I tend to stay away from science fiction/fantasy and young adult. Harry Potter is about as close to these genres as I get!
Some of my favorite books include: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith, Testimony by Anita Shreve, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, and the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. I usually reread these books at least once a year or so.
When I'm not reading, I enjoy going to the movies, working out (currently training to run 5K's), traveling, and spending time with family and friends. I'm a restaurant manager, so my 55 hour work weeks don't always leave much time for reading, but I try to squeeze in a few pages whenever I can.

Review Policy
I am an avid reader and have been since about the age of 4. I started this blog in February 2011 to share my love of reading and books with other people. If you are an author or publisher who would like me to review your book, I would be happy to review it here!
The genres that I enjoy are: contemporary fiction, historical fiction, memoirs, general fiction, chick-lit, humor, and some nonfiction (narrative nonfiction, some historical books).
The genres that I dislike are: YA, paranormal, dystopian, erotica, romance, and horror.
I will only read hardcover, paperback, ARC format, or audiobooks. I do not have an e-reader so I cannot accept books as PDFs or in an e-book format.

In a typical week, I read about 2 books and review every book that I read. I will try to read and review your book as quickly as I can upon receipt. I promise that I will give an honest review. If you would like, we can arrange a time frame for review, giveaways, author interview/guest post.
I will not sell your book but may offer it in a giveaway on my site, pass along to a family member or friend, or donate to the used book sale at my local library. If this makes you uncomfortable, please let me know ahead of time.
