Book Blog Hop and Follow Friday! (6-17-11)

Happy Friday everyone! Another Friday means one thing ... time for the Book Blog Hop and Follow Friday! For my followers, welcome back! For those of you seeing my blog for the first time ... welcome! I'm glad that you decided to check out my blog! Go ahead, look around and learn a little bit more about me! Now, onto the fun ...

“How many books are currently in your To-Be-Read (TBR) Pile?”

Oh goodness, let me see. According to my reading list page on my blog, I have 26 books in my TBR pile. I have another 7-10 that I keep on forgetting to add though. So max, I have 37. That's small compared to most everyone else's piles, but I like having a small, manageable pile. That way, I don't forget/lose books in the piles!

Q. Genre Wars! What's your favorite genre and which book in that genre made it your favorite?

My favorite genre is historical fiction, hands down. I love being able to be truly swept away by a book ... to a different time and place in history. Being able to see how people lived during a certain time period is also fascinating. I tend towards novels set during WWII, although I am open to nearly any kind of book. And I don't know if I can pinpoint one book that started my love of this genre. When I was younger, I LOVED Ann Rinaldi books, so I would have to attribute her with my love for this genre.

So, how many books are waiting for you in your TBR? And what's your favorite genre? I would love to know! Have a great weekend and happy hopping!

  1. I like managable piles as well so keep my TBR piles (note plural!) relatively small, but then that's the problem. I have more than one "small" pile!

And I'm a historical fiction addict too. Would definitely be my favourite genre.

  2. I really need to jump on the Historical Fiction bandwagon, it seems like that's everyone's favorite genre lol. I LOVED Ann Rinaldi when I was in high school so now I think I need to find another historical fiction author to help me dive back in! And I'm totally with you on the manageable tbr piles. I just need to get through the few books I have in them! I hope you have a wonderful weekend! New follower ;)

  3. Come read my Book Blogger Hop post in which I discuss my TBR and coin a new way of measuring it.

  4. I don't feel as if I have many either. I love historical fiction as you know but I'll look into Ann Rinaldi because that name doesn't bring any books to mind.

  5. I completely agree that its good to have a manageable to-read pile. Otherwise I'll be too overwhelmed on what book to choose next!

    Have a great weekend!

  6. It's refreshing to read that someone else doesn't have a huge pile. Most posts I've seen have said they have them piled everywhere, but that would be overwhelming to me. I think I have somewhere around sixty books on my shelves waiting to be read.

    Have a good weekend!

  7. My number depends on what I count as my TBR pile, lol.
If it is the immediate pile on my nightstand, then three; if it is the pile on my computer desk, then around 50 or so...
